SYNERGESTIC RESEARCH - GALILEO SX INTERCONNECT- XLR
Galileo LE is pretty old technology (for SR at least): uses the old MPC-based active shielding, no graphene, etc. Galileo SX has many advancements and sounds like it. If you do decide to try the LE, price needs to be very low as resale is very dif...
Anyone have experience with acousticfields.com or with using true pressure traps?
@holmz it may end up that I have to go the passive trap route due to cost. I am beginning to realize that any method of optimizing the construction of the room, no matter how sophisticated or expensive, will leave peaks and nulls to deal with. The...
Anyone have experience with acousticfields.com or with using true pressure traps?
I participated in a call with Dennis @acousticfields.com this afternoon. He was friendly and helpful and came across to me as one who knows what he is talking about. The bottom line is that he offered his room design services for a substantial fee...
Anyone have experience with acousticfields.com or with using true pressure traps?
@holmz my thought was to try to design the construction of the room such that the acoustic treatments would be built into the walls, so I am attempting to find someone who can mathematically model the room before it is built. Currently the basemen...
My experience with the First Watt F7
@roxy54 i completely get your disappointment with the F7 in your system and in no way wish to challenge your observations. Many reviews are suspect , especially those that involve a well known and well respected designer or brand. You heard what y...
My experience with the First Watt F7
@charles1dad my comment was not intended to be accusatory but, rather, preventative.
My experience with the First Watt F7
Each First Watt model is different, often drastically so. The First Watt SIT series is very different than the other/later models so everyone please be careful with generalizations re: “First Watt sound quality”.
Fleetwood Sound Company
Per Jon Ver Halen, US distributor for Cube Audio, grills for the Nenuphar are available but rarely requested by customers. Magnetic PEM nuts are included in the kit to secure the grills.
Krell anticipator circuits of the 1990s
Perfectly stated @jaytor. +1
Meitner MA3 amp/integrated suggestions
+1 on @blisshifi recommendation of First Watt, especially the SIT series. Closest you will come to tube sound from solid state.
Krell anticipator circuits of the 1990s
I own a Krell FPB-600c (no longer in service) and it did a fantastic job of controlling the notoriously low impedance woofer sections of my Thiel CS5i’s, often at very high volume. I would submit that few have heard the full glory of Tin Pan Alley...
MoFi controversy
@lewm The MOFI LPs in question here are called “Ultradisc One Step” and do indeed sell for $125 new and sealed from the usual new LP vendors.
Etheregen - doesn't seem right that it gets so hot, dangerous? Unpredictable?
@ozzy watch the video. I think he even addresses using the Muon filter with the Ether Regen but not sure about the optical feature.
Upstream Bottlenecks, Experience, Opinions, Meitner Dac
@bigwave1 Right. I had forgotten to mention the MA3’s sensitivity to isolation so I’m glad you did. I use a Symposium Ultra platform underneath it and found that I like the sound with Synergistic Research’s MIG 2.0s between the two.     BTW I thi...

@ghasley Thanks. I suspected as much.
