Can Audiogon compete with AudioMart (US and Canuck)
To me, USAM is what Audiogon once was, and it is where I look when I'm seriously considering buying something. I have never been a seller on either site, opting to find a local buyer when I decide to let something go. The majority of stuff I've bo...
What's Wrong?
The AVR is an older Onkyo TX-NR1007, which is a fairly feature-laden unit that is a good performer. I will check the manual for the pass-through option (which if it is available, will simplify things a lot).
What's Wrong?
Well, mahler123, you may have been on to something as far as the HDMI issue was concerned (or not).....after connecting the Fire Stick directly to the Blackbird switch and then connecting the Blackbird's HDMI output to the Samsung TV, I now have a...
What's Wrong?
2011 Panasonic - never had any HDMI issues before and Fire Stick worked with no problem when I had it connected to a Blackbird HDMI switch for a brief period recently. I have moved a newer Samsung into place and will be hooking that up tomorrow. T...
What's Wrong?
Both of those suggestions are good ones, but there was no audio problem until I connected the Firestick directly to the HDMI input. The Toslink feed was working fine before, both when the Firestick was connected directly to an HDMI input on the AV...
Caveat Emptor?
The young barber picked up the TT and the receiver today, and he was more than happy with the pair. No hum, and the sound was really good through a tiny pair of Aperion Audio speakers. Good karma begats good karma..
Caveat Emptor?
Being a victim of male pattern baldness, there is not much damage that the barber could do, but that thought did occur to me (if I had been trying to pull a fast one on him). Here again, he is not being cheated, but is being given a very nice rece...
Caveat Emptor?
Plus, I was not selling the receiver, I was throwing it in for free with the turntable. It would have been his decision on accepting it or not.
Caveat Emptor?
The hum turned out to be a ground loop that was specific to the room I had the pair hooked up in....moved it to another room this morning, no hum. The receiver works with no issues.....that's why I was not going to mention the hum, because I felt ...
Acurus A150 or ATI AT1202
I own an ATI 1802 and two ATI 602 amplifiers that are all currently in use and I love them. I owned an Acurus A-250 many years ago, and I think that the sonic signature of the two brands is very similar, which is almost no signature at all. That's...
What A Drag It Is Getting Old
A couple of weeks ago, I was installing pair of Super Zeros to a smaller system that is in a fairly large room. The speakers have binding posts that face downward at a slight angle, which is off the beaten path to start with. When I turned the sys...
Adcom Amp Owners Rejoice!
Coinkydink! I just picked up a NAD 1155 this week on A'gon. Paired it with a NAD 4150 tuner, also bought at the same time, and my GFA-535ii (to test it out after the fuse replacement that started this thread). Even using an ancient pair of Realist...
Ozzie Ozbourne is Dead
A-r-r-o-o-o-o!!!
Ozzie Ozbourne is Dead
My apologies in misspelling in his name at the beginning of this thread - it should have read "Ozzy".
Adcom Amp Owners Rejoice!
They definitely are - I have three of them (GFA 555ii / 535ii / 7500), and they are all workhorses. The amp was not at fault....I had it hooked to a multi-speaker switch and tried to swap out a set of cables on the switch while the amp was on. I t...
