Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what?
@thecarpathian  Yes! Meant to type that while class D may not take over, it's getting better and better. Sorry, I misspoke.
So how much do you think the placebo effect impacts our listening preferences?
@sokogear You said, ..."I can't believe you guys are arguing if speakers are better than headphones. They are DIFFERENT and do different things.I don't know anyone who prefers headphones unless they either have no decent stereo or can't play music...

@b_limo  I'm not sure that class D is going to "take over", as you say, but it's definitely getting better and better.
Any idea which headphones I’d like?
@mastering92  you're seriously considering adding another 10 headphones to your collection? Ten?...Why on Earth would you need 10 additional headphones?

@toddcowles I had the Focal Clear and while It did many things very well, I took a chance on the HiFiman Arya and sold the Clears. During ownership of the Arya, I auditioned at home, with the intention of buying, the Focal Stellia. After about 1 m...

Absolutely loving my Pass Labs HPA-1 with my Arya and Silver Dragon cable.I know you were asking about the other headphones but I'm just giving my 2 cents.

Like I said before, loudspeakers and headphones are different PRESENTATIONS.It's not a matter of some people like vanilla and some people like chocolate. The comparison is more of some people like ice cream and some people like brownies. The questi...
Class D amps that are superior to all or most?
Maybe on paper, George. However it's all about perception. It's all about how different people perceive sound differently. There is no universal best, regardless of schematic or measurement.
Class D amps that are superior to all or most?
Can someone answer this for me please, especially George...Since all amps have sonic defects and no amp is perfect, why can't people with class D amps just live with those defects inherent to that topology and people with class A amps live with cl...

@mahgister  ok. Good explanation. Thank you.
So how much do you think the placebo effect impacts our listening preferences?
@mahgister  you make statements about your system regarding the placement and the presentation you get and how headphones cannot compare. If it's the same system I saw in your picture, how on Earth do you get a sense of space or depth or width or ...
So how much do you think the placebo effect impacts our listening preferences?
@mahgister I just looked at your system. I need to start buying stock in tin foil.As you most eloquently put it earlier:"I apologize if my post seems rude..."
So how much do you think the placebo effect impacts our listening preferences?
@mahgister  also, when you say your $500 system beat your 7 headphones, please tell me in terms of what? Are you saying a $500 complete system beat all of your headphones systems? If so,  in what capacity? How exactly?I think you're trying to comp...
So how much do you think the placebo effect impacts our listening preferences?
@mahgister loudspeaker systems give a different presentation than headphone systems. I don’t believe that one, regardless of equipment used or set up, is it necessarily better or worse than the other. Like I said, they are different presentations ...

Headphones = less headache. I understand that you can doctor and Taylor the sound to your liking when you deal with a loudspeaker system with room acoustics and speaker placement and swapping cables, etc. However, the money required to get it right...
