Hi John, my Atma monos never burnt and through several upgrades I HAVE STUCK WITH THEM FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS NOW. Those are for life, while everything else in my set up has changed.

Sad to see him gone. I always had excellent dealings with him.Wonder what happened......
220 power conversion to 110.
Using a converter is trial and error. Depends on the converter and the area you live in. If you have very noisy power lines a down transformer may even be beneficial. However get one that is about the double in output of that what your Jadis needs...

What music do you want to play really loud?
Mahler, almost all of it....
Most sophisticated and intelligent musician
I would agree with Schubert and Apperup, but I would like to include Thelonious Monk.
What is Musicality?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me, that Monk was more interested in chord structure and chord changes, which he hammered out with aplomb, whereby his timing often made for a desired tension between his playing and his rythm sectio...
What is Musicality?
Schubert,Yes! And not to forget Art Tatum.
What is Musicality?
Sabai,REgarding those two artists you mention, I could not agree more. Not to forget, that Monk was also a composer and a great teacher in his own way. All the jazz greats of his time came to him, seeking his advice. His genius was behind and form...

Frogman,I fully agree. I would even go as far as to say, that technical perfection, both in classical as well as in jazz music is the prerequisit of a great artist. This alone does not necessarily makes his playing "musical". There are performes i...
What is Musicality?
Czarivey, what about Jazz? I love classical music, but I find musicality in many other forms and cultures as well and I donĀ“t think, that I am alone in this.Menahem Pressler, world famous pianist and leader of the Beaux Arts Trio had the highest re...
Quad ESL-63 and low-powered amps; Sun Audio, Atma
Roger Modjesky's work is excellent. I have owned one RM 200 with those Quads. However I switched to the Atmas and never looked back. No comparison in finesse and resolving power. The Atmas could handle the difficult impedance curve of the Quads fa...
Quad ESL-63 and low-powered amps; Sun Audio, Atma
I use the 63s in my second system and Atmaspere is absolutely right to my ears. Below 60 watts you won't hear what they can do. I use Gradient subs with them together with their dedicated x-over driven by a pair of old Manley 250, bought for very ...
