Abbingdon Music Research gold fuses ???
I was pretty sceptical but a dealer gave me an AMR fuse which I tried in the power cord (fused in the UK) to my cdp. It seemed to make a difference so I changed the rest to no noticable effect. At least they are inexpensive to try.
Lumen White?
I heard Silver Flame's driven by Robert Koda electronics a couple of years ago. Fabulous, awesome clarity and soundstaging. Not sure I'd characterize the difference between between Kharma and LM in terms of sweetness, that system sounded plenty sw...
dcs debussy
A couple of guys I know just spent an evening at dCS where amoungst other things they heard the Debussy and Puccini back to back in the same system. They were surprised when they all prefered the Puccini. Not that the Debussy was bad.I've had a De...
Big Step Up from Totem Hawks? 10k Speakers?
Hi Ptm, I've came from a similar place. My room is a similar size to yours and I ran Totem Forest which I really enjoyed. With two youngsters not to mention their friends the Totem's were an accident waiting to happen given their light weight.Some...
Verity Audio speakers
I spent a very enjoyable morning with Verity PE's at a local dealer last week.I'd briefly heard a Luxman cdp into his Soulution pre & pwr driving the Verity a month or two back. The experience blew me away, the sheer resolving power was fantas...
need suggestion for which speaker matchs NAD M2
Haven't heard the system but a guy local to me runs an M2 with Wilson Benesch ART and is very happy with the combo.
Coincident Statement Pre Vs Aesthetix Calypso Pre
Hi Dpe94.Whats has your experience with noise been? In my system its not intrusive but noticeable when I'm near the tweeter. I've read some reports saying the signature is very quite, did you notice any difference after the upgrade?
Coincident Statement Pre Vs Aesthetix Calypso Pre
I've a Calypso, no experience of the Coincident and I've not heard the Sig.The Calypso is a fine pre, the one thing to be aware of is the unit drives tubes hard and noise can be a problem with very sensitive speakers. You also need to budget for q...
Anyone using Speltz Anti cables XLRs
I was running the Anticable cdp to pre and the Teo from pre to power. In your system trust your ears :-)
Anyone using Speltz Anti cables XLRs
I've got some and used them for a long while. After hearing Teo cables but baulking at the price I went on a mission to find something that out performed the Anticable XLRs and did most of what the Teos do. I came up short, the only cable I came a...
Amplifier for Sonus Faber Cremona M
A guy I know runs Cremona M with a CJ350 amp and Arc Ref3. In a purpose built listening room the sound is quiet stunning. The system punches well above its weight. His previous combo Modwright pre and Karan amp was pretty awful, really didn't work ...
Speakers for ML 33H
Bare in mind both speakers will need exacting setup to get the best from them, the WP7s in particular.I've heard the WP7s a fair bit driven by Jeff Rowland 301 along with a couple of other amps when we've swaped them into the system. The owner lov...
Playback Designs
Jwm, interesting finding, what system are you running the cdps in?
Sonus Faber Stradivari
As has been said, do try and hear the Strad's first. They're a great speaker for sure but coming from ceramic drivers you might find them a little ponderous. They'll show you tone and beauty but they arn't the last word in dynamics.
12BZ7/12AX7 vs. 5751
I can't comment on whether 12bz7 is a substitute for 12ax7/5751 however if it is my advice would be take advice only from those who have experience of your amp or go out and listen for yourself. For me Sylvania 5751 are excellent, better than any 1...
