Perhaps this opinion is not one that is going to be popular...but here it is..IF you have to burn in something for 600 hours...for it to sound good, then I think something is very wrong. How can anyone remember exactly how something sounds from th...
JADIS DEFY7, can not get it to sing
@mozartfan  You just posted an interesting point. You have found yourself in a difficult position...because you acquired an excellent amp and spent $$ to do it, without realizing that the amp is only half the picture at best. I wonder how many fol...

Favorite band or artist of all time?
So many great artists. Hard to pin down even the top ten, I do think that Chuck Berry deserves to be very high on the list. Mostly overlooked, for some unknown reason.
Mapleshade...where's the love?
Here’s one thing going for Mapleshade...you don’t have to wait for months (years?) for their soon to be released titles. What’s with TBA...BS???LOL.
Help with Sonus Faber Extrema issue
Winston, I am almost 100% sure your problem lies with the x-over. The Extrema's need a lot of power...but can, like any speaker, be over driven. That and the age, means a trip to to the tech. @mijostyn, the Extrema's haven't been made for decades....
Crackling and hiss - Preamp tubes not seated right?
Had the exact same problem with a Mullard CV4003 as the OP. The culprit is the tube. These tubes, which sound great...as another member posted, are getting on in years ( if they are NOS, which mine were). As such, i think they are not as ’durable’...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Al, unless I’m mistaken, Richard had Signal make him dual cables for dual subs...as such, I think that Signal ties the red and yellow cables together per cable. That is what they did for my dual sub arrangement for my dual cables. Therefore, each ...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Interesting Richard. I got the exact same advice from REL and then on a subsequent call was told that the LFE.1 channel takes precedence ( same as the low level connection). If it is connected via an RCA cable. The second adviser told me that i sh...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Richard, were you or were you not connecting your RCA ic to your preamp from your REL at the low level connection (LFE connection)? Because if you were, you are now activating your low level connect ( pushing signal as well as establishing a groun...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Richard, Clearly the best ( and maybe the only way) to hook-up the sub to your particular amp is to have Jeff install a ground connector ( like he did for me). This is a sure fire way to success. Since you like the low level connection, maybe send...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Richard, I would defer to Al’s points..and therefore not implement my suggestion. OTOH, Al do you have any idea as to why my balanced JR model 8T has no issues when connected in the manner that i suggested? ( which also was the way that REL had su...
REL subs with Rowland Amplifiers
Richard, I think if you always have your RCA ic connected to your preamp, then you are always listening to the low level connection...by default. I am under the impression that the connection to the low level input is done by inserting the RCA ic ...
Mapleshade...where's the love?
While I will agree that their artists are not very well known, I don’t think that some of their music..or their musicianship is not enjoyable. Then we add the extremely impressive SQ...and I still think they are a winner.
I need some turntable guidance
@soundermn   Don't worry, be happy. ;0)
