Fm tuner
I tried several tuners fated i the top 20 on fmtunerinfo.com. they have not tested everything, but their evaluations are spot on. I sold my beautiful Kenwood 917 because the old IC driven B&K TS108 really does sloun just a bit better. I do lis...
Magico vs Kef vs B&W vs. VSA
Why waste your money. You already have a great system.  Collect more music.
Tenting home for termites
IMSAO you should let the termites eat about an eighth inch of wood in yoyr speakers before treatment. Try to spread the holes out evenly. Subterrianian termites do not sound as good, unless you use my special Rosewood volume control knob.
If bi-amping is so great, why do some high end speakers not support it?
For you who are not aware, biwiring does not exist electrically. Use a 20 amp capacity wire vs. 2 tens. There is no difference. You might say use 2 20's? Then use one 40.
If bi-amping is so great, why do some high end speakers not support it?
Theoretically, biamping can be better due to bypassing crossovers. I have found that my pair of Audire Forte amps are less fatiguing when biamping my 803's, but my slightless less powerful class A Audire amp does not need to be paired to maintain ...
What are the top 3 USB cables being used today in reference systems?
A USB cable either transfers all the data or it doesn't. Don't waste yoyr money.
Bookshelf Speakers - $500-$900 range
In this price range, U would go with old B&w Matric 805's especially since you have a sub.
Tidal free trial subscription
I find it hard to believe a true audiophile would bither with either. I trued them. The bass on Tidal is worse thsn a Shure V15 on stacked Advents. Both are severely lacking in sound quality. Listening is OK, AND i di have XM radio for hearing rel...
Best interconnect burn-in method
Just remember that burn in time  has two components. 1- You can get used to anything after a few months, and you will forget what sounded better. 2- The three month burn in time for components and wiring exists solely to get past the credit card r...
The all conquering Zerostat
Back in 1980 or so, next door to Sound Components in Gainesville, was a Pizza Hut with a table top computer game. I forget whether it was Pac Man, Mrs Pac Man or the one with the aliens dropping from the sky (Space Invaders?). We discovered a grea...
901 series 2 speakers
I never liked them. They have horrible lower bass and no high end. Consider this: New replacement drivers are $6.00 each. You have 18. That is $98 worth of drivers. The good thing is that they make great PA speakers. Bar Bands used the carpet cove...
If you had to choose between Okki-Nokki and Pro-Ject record cleaners....
I still use my trusty Discwasher with distilled water. Cleaning fluid builds up and makes you think your choice is wrong.
Pass Labs
I like Ferrari's, too, but must stick to my blown S2000 autocross daily driver.
Whats playing on your system today?
A Pink Floyd "The Wall" two CD cover set with Ian Anderson and Rick Wakeman. Yoyo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble.Red Hot Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium".Buddy Guy "Living Proof".All Jamaican All Star Jazz Band, especially on "My Boy Lollipop" and ...
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably?
I would certainly add Audire to this list, at least everything built after the Model 2 amp and Legato preamp. The Legato is reliable, but I wonder about the people who rave about its sound. It is certainly clean , but it's power supply limits its ...
