How do the Elac Uni-Fi UB5s compare to more expensive bookshelf speakers?
...that is: if your budget is 1500$, then you may have better choices (e.g. LS50 and so on); if your budget is 750$ but you're thinking of stretching it ("OK, after all, what if I don't eat and feed my familty for a month or two ?" just kiddin' :-...
How do the Elac Uni-Fi UB5s compare to more expensive bookshelf speakers?
heard both Unify and LS50 at hifi shows; LS50 are better to my ears, but ELAC'S q/p ratio is higher.to say it all, I may go for a Debut B5 which is even cheaper than Unify and sounds better to my ears (and many comments agree 'round here in Italy)...
Why do Harbeth speakers have such a cult following
did not read all the posts, so I may repeat something that's already been told.I think Harbeths join a great timbre correctness with musical involvement. at a relatively reasonable price (compared to the crazy world of hifi, where few grams of cop...
Songs Faber Olympica I vs Dynaudio Contour 20 - My Review

Hi,sorry for answering so late, I was out of town. No, I've not bought the DAC yet; actually, I'm still a bit confused about what to do, starting with the E360: I like it, but it's still "under judgement", so I won't buy any DAC or phono module unt...
Amplification Recommendations For Magnepan .7
I now own two amplifications: ARC LS25/II + 100.2and Accuphase E-360I will have to make a choice between them in the future (it's more a choice between separates and integrated, actually).I already drove MG12's with the 100.2 and I liked it.so my ...
If money was and was not of any concern when buying speakers.
if money was no concern: B&W Nautilus, because I've heard them play several times at fairs, with different sources and rigs, and they were always the best sound of the year (to my ears and my taste, obviously).if money was concern, well, the s...
Question for Rowland aficionados
Rumor has it Model 7 mono and Model 5 stereo are great, same "character" as Model 1 but better all the way.
from ARC to Pass ?
guess 30k = balanced and 20k = unbalanced
from ARC to Pass ?
First, I thank you all for your kind and interesting answers.I know ARC Ref. 3, I often hear it play at a friend of mine's home. but here in Italy, where a live, I can find it (used) only at a much higher price than X2+X150.5 (say 4500€ vs 3500€)....
