@leog2015  I believe Audio Union doesn’t sell anymore. They just distribute and repair. As I said above, I had a very good experience with Constantin at Atelier 13 Audio and I know they have the TL2. Maybe not in stock, as I think they order from ...
What is your most fond musical memory.
I’ve been fortunate to have seen some of the greatest bands in concert - The Who, Zeppelin, BS&T, Chicago, Sly, Mothers, Tull’s first NY appearance when they were amazing. But probably my most fond musical memory was when I went to see Basie ...

@leog2015 - I would definitely check with Audio Union before buying an expensive used CEC product.  I would give them the serial number to make sure it can be serviced if necessary.  I have never heard one, but the TL2N looks like a beautiful unit...

Here's an interesting article by Arthur Salvatore to the effect that the transport is more important to the overall presentation than the dac.  A minority view to be sure, but make of it what you will.  http://www.high-endaudio.com/RC-Digital.htm...

@leog2015 - selling?  No, I just got it. I was just posting my initial impressions for anyone in the market for a TL5.

Just following up for anyone interested in the CEC TL5. I received mine today and it is very nicely made with a well-damped chassis and everything feels commensurate with the price. Yes I know they are selling them on EBay for $1000, but I chose n...

@charles1dad - CEC estimates the belt life as 5 years, which of course depends on use. They do go on to say that it’s not necessary to change the belt after 5 years if it all sounds right. I have a strong feeling that belt will be the least of my ...

I have a CEC on the way. There are a lot of choices and very difficult to compare them side by side. I like the ergonomics of the unit and the fact that it is a time-tested design with US service.
Antique Sound Labs
Bill Baker from Response Audio knows a lot about ASL. I believe he is working with Raven now, but the Response website is still up. He use to do a lot of modding on ASL.
Sugden Amps
Check out the Heed Obelisk.  50/wpc, smooth but detailed and the distributor recommends you always leave it on. A very good amp. I think it’s about $2k.
speakers cables for Lavardin and Harbeth?
I am a big fan of Audience Au24. You can pick up the older ones at very fair prices. Works well with Harbeth. I also found Purist Poseidon to work well with Harbeth, but they are heavy and more difficult to work with. They both sounded far better ...
Testing Ethernet switch
@tvrgeek - I would wager that anyone who buys a better switch already knows that they don’t measure better. They just want them and I think that’s a good enough reason. I think Alvin from Vinshine (Denafrips) said it best. He said that as a comput...
Testing Ethernet switch
I think that if someone is going to listen to music and keep thinking that it would sound better with a better switch, they should buy the better switch. Then they can relax their brain and enjoy more.  Until the next thing that has to be changed ...
Harbeth: HL Compact vs HL7 Compact
Big Harbeth fan, but never heard of the Compacts until now. I think you would be better off asking at the Harbeth Forum.  My only thought is they might have drivers that are no longer available. As far as waiting for the price - if you love them t...
McIntosh MA352 Mirror Finish Scratches
I don’t know if you will completely get them out, but I would try Flitz. Technique is everything. Apply with a soft foam or microfiber wax pads for cars and buff off with a microfiber towel. Straight lines only. This may minimize them to a point w...
