Negative Feedback a deal killer?
<<"Or should one just listen and shut up"Wisdom defined.>>If we all followed that advice, there would be no forums on Audiogon. If only the wise did, they could only learn from the unwise :)
Dan D'Agostino is back with a new line
Rwwear, can you elaborate? Very curious about what happened.
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5
"Not that it matters but I have over 1000 hours of listening experience with both amps and the XA30.5 is clearly a better sounding product given a friendly pair of speakers."When a dealer publicly makes a statement like this (i.e., fewer dollars =...
High End Audio and Your hearing as you get older
Mitch4t, we can still hope that there's another period like 1950-1970, where every young male had to have a good sound system. The recent interest in vinyl is a good sign. If there's a renaissance of interest in good sound, maybe the mainstream au...
High End Audio and Your hearing as you get older
As a 50 year old motorcyclist, I would like to say that with earplugs, your hearing doesn't have to suffer. Also, a windshield very often makes the wind noise much louder, as it concentrates all the wind that would be hitting your chest onto your ...
Cayin A-100T KT88 tube spec
Not clear (to me at least) what you are asking. Does this amp have a bias adjustment, but you can't adjust it enough with a new, presumably different brand of kt88's?
Bryston 28B SST
Dev, not trying to be loud or start a pissing match. I just wanted to challenge what I thought you were trying to imply: that Mitch4t was wrong to point out the review test results regarding 28SST2 behavior into sub-4 ohm impedance. Especially for...
Bryston 28B SST
Dev, are you saying that we should we ignore what a reviewer has to say, but to take what YOU have to say as gospel? In both cases, it's just someone else telling us what they heard with their own ears.I try to give all available information it's ...
Tweaks I'd like to see . . .
How about audiophile floor joists? They could damp floor resonances, and power-condition any Romex routed through them?Speaking of Romex, I don't think anyone is marketing audiophile Romex, but I'm probably wrong . . . I'm thinking solid silver 10...
Rubidium Clock
I just heard this combination yesterday. There was a definite improvement in the sense of real insruments and voices in space, and diminished "splash" on transients like cymbals and applause. The character of the sound changes less than what you h...
Tweaks I'd like to see . . .
Hmmm . . . solar/battery power supply? This might actually work, and could be a TRUE dedicated circuit, not even connected to the grid.To take full advantage, you'd need an Audio grade Power Boot Camp. Similar to a power conditioner, but this woul...
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5
Congratulations! What kind of differences are hearing? I assume they're pre-loved, or you'd be impatiently waiting for them to break in.
Gainclone vs. Pure Class-A
Jedinite24, I know where you're coming from, but I recommend checking your electric costs to make sure the dollars add up. For example, let's say you pay $0.15 per kW hour for trons, and you play your 300 watt-sucking amp six hours a day. That wou...
Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick?
Bosch DLR130 laser range finder/measuring tape. This this is very handy for me. I usually find that if I get the speaker distance and angle perfect, I get a much cleaner image from the setup. These laser rangefinders make getting those distances ri...
does amp draw alot of power when volume is zero
Bel Canto publishes the idle power draw in the owners manual, as do many other manufacturers. Their current integrated (s300i) idles at 15 watts. I would leave it on 24/7.
