Turntable recommendation
Get yourself a brand new technics mk7...they now come in color of your choice. For a cartridge, grab a premounted (on headshell) audio technica of your choice. Amazon sells a ton of AT cartridges. The AT520eb is a good one. The mani will suffice a...
45 Singles You Just Had to Buy
I buy 45’s now and then just to get the one song I like, rather than buying the whole album. Just bought the 45 of Player "baby come back".
Turntable Isolation Journey
Luckily I do not have any of these issues...my system is in a basement room, concrete floors and walls. Turntable shelf. Another table, fully suspended thorens, sits atop my equipment credenza, right near the left speaker...no ill effects whatsoev...
Any Thoughts?
Taylor swift is a hottie
the big one: how do you choose speakers? By what features, data?
I read reviews. Then I buy unseen/unheard. Tough to audition nowadays, all my hifi stores/haunts have shuttered. I am mostly pleased with what I’ve bought, which currently includes tannoy legacy eaton, Martin Logan motion 15, wharfedale diamond 22...
You've run some pretty fancy MC's, but the _______ MM cartridge really impressed me
Both the ortofon 2m Bronze and the shure m97xe impress me. Own them both, among various moving coils, such as the Hana el, denon dl 103, dynavector 20x2 (low), & dynavector 10x5 (low). Also own other MM, such as ortofon om10, AT 520eb, both ni...
What's your picks
JBL 4309's come to mind. They have received many favorable reviews and can be had on sale for $1400. They are typically $2k.
Why do almost all women today hate home audio?
My wife hates my hifi...never sits to listen and thinks it's ugly and takes up too much space. I can concur with the OP 100%...
The best speaker cables you’ve had
For the money, hard to beat audioquest's type 4. I see no reason to change them out or spend more money. I think I'll buy another set, as they most likely will no longer be available at some point.
Gordon Lightfoot, Canadian folk legend, dead at 84
The best, a terrible loss...may he rest in peace. I own every single album he produced. Forever a Legend.
Speaker recommendations :-)
Tannoy, of course...😁
I was happy with my system for 30 years; now I need a new amp...and more?
Rogue sphinx v3 comes to mind at $1595
My speakers have gone AWOL
Lovin’ my eatons, the "not so" little brother those tannoys...
Bang for the buck
@labguy it’s called being in debt up to your eye balls lol...kidding aside (not really), I am too lazy to remove the Tannoys right now, I'll get around to it at some point when I have the inclination or if I'm bored.
Demise of bass quality in Main speakers
My diamond 225's have incredible bass for their size. Even at just 6.5 inches, you can feel the bass. It has a bass port on the bottom that fires into a plinth. I don't currently use them, but they are so darn good, I will not sell them.
