ct...Oil? South.  For the time being, anyway.  The low prices @ the pump simply forestalls our being weaned from the stuff before it becomes rare.  HO:  It'll attain that just about the time the climate really gets everyone's attention, which is w...
Will a RCA to RCA adapter hurt the sound?

ct0517...*G*  Due to your 'post experience' (1.5K+), I'll bow to your observation that some other forum will wreak AG Armageddon before this one will.  So I'll back your bet, based on that... ;)I'll be not so secretly pleased at least that the tan...
Are Ohm-Walsh micros and 1000 series disrespected because of omni-directional design??
I can't resist being the devil's advocate re this forum...I like omnis.  Having heard the original Ohm's decades ago, I was enthralled by what I heard.  Never could afford a pair, never had the space to live with them either.However...the current ...
Will a RCA to RCA adapter hurt the sound?
MHO, if you're running esoteria equipment and you've got the 'ears' to hear such, you've already noticed...But, agreed with the above comments, replace with full length when you can see doing so.  It's just more 'sanitary', less potential for need...

Rauliruegas, re your 2/14 2:19pm post...Yep, agreed.  An air bearing arm, properly set up, in MHO, just seems to have less 'compromises' in play then any pivoted arm.  As to less bass, well, that's one out of how many other observations that can b...
Why do all audio forums on the internet seem "dead" ?
Activity varies with the topic, MHO.  With the advent of 'PC-fi', there's interest in adapting one's current system to the 'new standard of standardness'; that's where there's the typ. 'Q&A' happening.  Those who've made a substantial investme...
$800 to spend on speakers, $1500 on whole system
Bookshelves can always be put on stands if that'll work for you.  A sub can always be added later...I got a Polk sub at the local Habitat for Humanity for peanuts.  A little 'cosmetics' (clean/sandpaper/semi-gloss black spraypaint)...up, up, and A...

Use your iPhone for personal mobile only.  Use your 'puter as a source for steamcasters who play your preferences.  Unless you're in a large city, your options 'on the air' are going to be limited even then. (I don't, and local FM bites...NPR is t...
top 25 speakers of all time, no ribbons?
Ribbons will continue to be the 'bastard child' in the world of 'audiophilia' until they've 'been around enough' and been technically 'tweeked' enough to gain grudging acceptance that they outperform cones 'n domes. MHO.Planars and 'stats, esp. th...

....and no mention of a tangential arm in this entire thread.Just an observation...don't mean to throw gasoline on anybody's embers 'out there'.  It's all preference IMHO, and where that leads you...and leaves you.
Audiophile pets and their names...

Best speakers for Pink Floyd?
'5 years of mau5', "I Remember"Try it before you scoff....knock the dust off the woofers and subs...subtle synth stuff, to coin a phrase...;)
Best speakers for Pink Floyd?
...lately I've been doing the latter with deadmau5, but I'm just Really Contrary, y'all....;)
Best speakers for Pink Floyd?
Any working speaker, dependent upon what you've ingested.  But at that point, you're probably filling in blanks that may not exist. *G*I vote headphones for personal use.  Then loudness won't freak you neighbors out, and verify to them that you're...
