Thomasheisig, I agree with your evaluation, and would like to add the Aesthetix IO to the list. Are you in Europe?
Other factors for determining the necessary gain are the input sensitivity of your amplifier and the efficiency of your speakers. These parameters can and do vary widely from system to system and definitely affect the amount of overall gain required to achieve acceptable listening levels... Your own preference for playback at a particular dB level must also be taken into account, as well as the size and reflective/absorptive properties of your room and listening distance from the speakers. As you can see, there many variables that go into the equation.
Hi Albert,
you are right with the Aesthetix, but I know this unit only from comments. This one is very rare here in Germany ( That's where I live )
Cheers
Thomasheisig, I have traveled to Germany and Switzerland more than a dozen times. I once brought into the USA, a fair amount of product by Breuer Dynamic. He lived near Schaffhausen, not too far from the people who build my studio camera and lighting (Sinar Bron).

I thought I detected European culture in the phrasing of your posts. My wife and I enjoyed our visits there very much, and I can visualize the beautiful scenery and wonderful food and drink when I hear (or read) things that remind me of those pleasant times.

Pleased that you choose to join us here at Audiogon, and I hope that you will have an opportunity to hear the Aesthetix one day. It is a wonderful product.
