How AI fixed my Bryston integrated’s crashing problem


Okay…big breath. I have had amp crashing issues lately. So I relentlessly pursued this with AI. While it has stumbled along the way, and the path was long and circuitous, it has delivered me all the answers I need on a very complex topic. WARNING. It is very long over days. But I am posting it as it fully illustrates AI abilities and limitations in the sometimes very complicated world of audio. All of that is on full display here. 
BTW, AI gave me the answers that Bryston tech support could not. 
 

How AI fixed my Bryston crashing problem

Remember, I have used Charter Oak PEQ-1 in my Bryston tape loop for over a decade. AI got me to understand finally that my upgrading all the PCs systemwide has triggered the increase in shutdowns, due to the safety mechanisms picking up quicker voltage swings. Faster power delivery equals more defensive shutdowns. Taming EQ output using the broad overlapping bands as opposed to master gain dials (which when turned down kills punch and dynamics) has now got the fully boutique cabled system sounding far better than it ever did before. I just have to dial the bands a little lower due to the more efficient power delivery. I will quote some of what AI said soon

Where I am now
 

Amp keeps getting worse with glitches and crashes. AI was wrong previously and of limited use. Now it is advising sent the amp to Bryston. 

A new start
 

i have started over, feeding it temporal events very carefully and carefully worded, based on my own cumulative learnings from converging truths from previous attempts with AI on this subject matter. Now concluding the amp is safe but will be more prone to crash with aggressive EQ use and with low impedance Audience PCs. All this is fascinating. I now know WSY MORE about my amps electronics to ever could have before. What a journey!  BTW, the music coming out of it sounds better than ever!  Using Audience PCs, I can temper EQ with the most wonderful still saturated sonic results. We’re ok (for now)!

Oh. Crucial new detail is the retained capacitance of potentially even overnight and unplugged. And not only residual charge but fault codes. See the end of the post. I will hold on to hope that amp not damaged!
