Dynaudio Confidence serie

Hi,

Have you had a chance to listen to the Dynaudio Confidence 30/50/60 series? What do you think about them?

A lot of people I know keep raving about them, and my favorite hi-fi dealer carries the whole Confidence lineup, so I've started thinking about making the switch.

So far I've only heard the Dynaudio Special Forty and there were quite nice.

I bought a secondhand pair of Confidence 50's from TMR a few months back. Very pleased with them and fill my man cave effortlessly. They put a big smile on my face. Driving them with a BAT REX 500 and VK-85 preamp. I was bummed to hear that they were exiting because this may impact resale if I ever decide to downsize. The Confidence 50's are formidable and very balanced top to bottom. Not the last word in low bass but for me they present a wholly lifelike image.

Does anyway have the idea if Coda S5.5 would drive Dynaudio Confidence 30? It was said in some article that it doubles down its power to 100 watts into 4 Ohms, so it should be... but I heard many times that Dynaudio requires a lot of watts.

My dealer bought the last four pair of Contour Legacy from the U.S. distributor. I bought one of those pair yesterday. After one day I like them better than my Confidence C2 Platinum, and they will get even better as they break in. I bought my C2s new in 2018 and have been listening to them exclusively ever since.

You want a high current amp, capable of delivering large peaks on demand. The rated WPC matters less. Not all high WPC amps really deliver the goods. I use a Naim NAP 300 DR with my Dyns.

I honestly don't know anything about the Coda S5.5. It might be perfectly adequate, but I can't tell you that.
