The price increase was substantial but considering the previous generation was released fall 2018 with only minor $ increases over nearly 8 years, this should have been expected. My only disappointment is the model 2 appears to have vanished. Hopefully the new Olympica G series will have the needed refinement and eliminate the HT sound pitfalls that slightly plagued the previous series. |
We have had the III's for a few weeks and they completely blew us away. Some of the lower end Sonus Faber (Lumina and Sonetto) we can find a few notable faults with... However, the new G3 Olympicas are utterly spectacular. We have the V on their way and should have them today or tomorrow. Couldn't be more excited. They're so good in fact, that we are considering bringing in a pair of the Amati Supreme. The new G3 are just kind of the ultimate speaker. They image so solidly with such a good presence and weight to everything that just feels so round and real, if that makes sense. There is zero shoutiness or brightness yet they are lively and expressive. They're one of our favorite speakers in the store and the best sounding SF speakers we have ever heard in our store. Highly highly recommend seeking them out to listen. |
@simplystereo Congrats on carrying the Olympica line. Was very close to purchasing the Nova 2 in 2022 but the bass was not right slightly boomy/loose as if SF was trying too hard on getting extra bass out of a small cabinet. I assume clarity and dynamics have also improved with the updated drivers? Do you have any information if Olympica 2 will be released at a later date since there is a big $ gap between the 1 and 3? |
