JPlay App

I just tried the new JPLAY app that I read about on 6moons. It’s clearly sounds better than Roon in my system. Looks like I’ll be using it from now on. Free 14 day trial, give it a shot.

Downloaded and set up in seconds - very slick, syncs with favorites.

SQ: It is different than QC. Will need some time to determine if it's better, but I'm guessing probably so and easy to a/b.

@marcin_gps Can you please explain if there is (or should be) any SONIC benefit to using JPLAY over Qobuz Connect in the following scenario.

Lumin T3X network player hardwired using optical fiber streaming Qobuz only. No local files.

I've been a/b-ing a few well known to me HiRes tracks and I really can't say I hear any difference.

I do realize this scenario was not a 'problem' JPLAY was designed to solve, just trying to determine if there is a technical reason why JPLAY vs. QC requesting the exact same file should sound any different, or not.

Thank you.

Just to follow up I was able to get my Sonore OpticalRendu’s to play in Jplay.  I had to uninstall the DLNA App in Sonore’s Sonicorbiter then reboot the Rendu’s and reinstall the DLNA App then reboot.  The Rendu’s now show up as audio players and Jplay works great now. I have noticed that Jplay seems more stable than Roon on my network.  Occasionally Roon tracks would stop playing sound as the tracks continued to play then sound would randomly return.  I have not experienced that with Jplay.
