JPlay App

JPLAY 1.4.3 is out.

Changelog:

• Direct Disk Playback for HQPlayer and MinimServer: when HQPlayer Desktop and MinimServer share the same machine, JPLAY can send the local file path to HQPlayer for direct-from-disk playback.
• Improved HQPlayer playback: JPLAY can now send multiple upcoming tracks to HQPlayer at once, for smoother transitions.
• Queue Radio modes: more control over how it picks what plays next.
• Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Available now on the App Store. As always, let me know here if you run into anything after updating.

I'll go into more detail on the new features in follow-up posts.

Currently the albums for a specific artist are sorted in a release date descending order.

Any chance to deploy a feature that would allow sorting albums for a specific artist by popularity?

What is the best way to update to the new 1.4.3 version? Directions?  Thanks for the update!

I updated by going to app store, searching for jplay and hitting the update button 

Thanks…installed the update.  I was hitting the open button instead of clicking on the app logo which gives the update button.  Yesterday was my first day seriously comparing it to Roon.  It definitely has a different sound.  Roon is smoother more mellow while JPlay is more alive with detail and clarity. Both sound good in their own ways but I do prefer JPlay’s SQ.  Details, imaging and weight really stand out more on my system.  Still trying to learn/navigate the app. Not real intuitive for me.  So far, I miss the functionality and features Roon offers.  Since I am Roon for life I do see using both apps.  Roon for discovery and easy listening and Jplay for serious SQ listening sessions.  JMHO
