Anyone remember Square Deal in Patchogue L.I. ??

Just curious for those who frequented the Square Deal store in Patchogue LI. The store has been gone for awhile...but, I really enjoyed visiting and buying my first real audio system back in the late 80's. Steve K was a really great salesman and I learned a lot about audio from him( and my Dad)..Anyone remember?

Visiting  SQUARE DEAL in the 70s with a buddy was a weekly venture.....We made a special trip to hear the new ARs and Hitachi classG  receivers...I remember Steve and his partner .....They were like two madmen scientists of audio....it was always like...HEY...Lets go o Square Deal!...itwas a ride from Deer Park.but we managed to :entertain ourselves for the trip....Oh and a stop at Hardees or Wetsons to boot!:)

Yah, bought a few things from there, my favorite being a KLH all-in-one system I got in 1974 or so. I remember demos of the "new" Dahlquist DQ-10 and Tandberg stuff. I was a bit of a gypsy then, and ended up in the Navy, but I always stopped by when possible to see what was new. I smelled trouble when "The Wiz" moved in nearby.

I used to frequent them, Designatron and the Audio Den as well as some other far-flung shops in Nassau county. There was a nice store in or around Huntington too where I heard Brothers in Arms for the first time.

Having lived in Houston, San Diego, Bangor (where I contracted the HiFi jones), Norfolk and even Salina, KS, I sampled many shops and miss them all. Great people, great equipment. I wish I had better income and more time to hang around those places when I had the chance.

I now live in Northern NJ and have access to SkyFi, Audio Connection and all of the great Manhattan dealers, but end up buying from Crutchfield and the like. It's just not the same.

Greetings and salutations from wherever I am today.

Funny i lived over in Oakdale and never.when in to the shop. For some reason I thought it was just car stereo  stuff.

Absolutely remember them, they were a LWE speaker dealer. I worked at the Steteo Exchange in Manhassett  We were so involved in LWE  Geoff bought the rights to manufacture them as CM Labs in CT
