Question for the older folks- did you ditch vinyl when cd arrived?

Yes, because my two year old’s friend at the time trashed my cartridge, and given where I had to put my system in my living room I could see it happening again, so I shifted over to CDs and didn’t listen to vinyl again for over a decade.  I did keep all my albums however.

No. I never got rid of my records. I'm still buying records, but mostly the so called audiophile $60 to $160 to replace some of the albums that scratched with time and use. 

I have plenty of music on CDs but my ears prefer vinyl for some reason. 

Never got into CDs, so never considered getting rid of my vinyl. I did get a CD player as there were some releases back then that didn't make it to vinyl, and there was a lot of previously unreleased material that was released for the first time on CD.

Yes i sold all my albums...and i had like excellent condition, first edition copies..1100 lps for $1400 bucks .I was a jerk.
