When a power cord could obviously affect SQ

I have been a bit of a non-believer in power cords having magical effects on SQ but I have been discussing with Frank Ng a pair of PP 2A3 amps I am purchasing from TriodeLab.  He is supplying a pair of his preferred cables and he points out that the  2A3s’ cathodes are fed directly from the mains transformer.

The amps (UPS willing) arrive tomorrow - this should be quite an experience - it has been quite a game finding great tubes.

I have had only positive experiences with Ray tubes. Many here will say power cords will have a sonic impact if you have a resolving system. They were the last  piece of the puzzle for me

Why is it an obvious upgrade? If the existing cable can provide all the power you'll need what changes with higher priced cables ?

BTW... Nice amps!

What are you trying to say about When a power cord could obviously affect SQ?

@lanx0003 Remember, I have been somewhat sceptical.  My thought was that the cathodes of tubes such as the 2A3 are  less isolated from EMI picked up by the cable, hence a greater chance of SQ being affected than with components sitting behind smoothed and voltage regulated power supplies.

@tuberist I looked up Ray tubes and they are now on my list, thanks.
