Endearing? Not that I saw. I had a question at a talk that he and Mychal J (Mytek) were giving one year at Axpona (or CAF--cant remember). He was damned rude as I guess the question was very elementary in his esteemed higher that mighty opinionated self.. Mykal covered for him at least.
AGD Duet Monoblocks
Considering replacing my Gryphon Diablo 120 integrated with AGD Duet monoblocks, using my Linn Selekt DSM (with Organik DAC and Utopik power supply upgrade) as a preamp direct to the monoblocks, paired with Vivid Audio Giya G1 Series One speakers. Objectives are clarity, microdetail, and imaging. Would be interested in comments from any AGD owners, especially AGD Duets owners. Thanks!

I couldn’t disagree with you more. Alberto is a class act. I have dealt with him more than probably most and have not detected any rudeness from him. Maybe he had a bad day. Please give him the benefit of the doubt. I have had the Duet in my system not too long ago and can say with certainty that you will not go wrong if you were to acquire them. I didn’t buy them because I already own the Audion. The Duet is similar but with more power. Depending on your speakers efficiency, you might prefer them. Not sure if AGD does in house trial, but like I said, Alberto knows me well enough to have sent me a pair for audition. You can always ask. |
