Question for the older folks- did you ditch vinyl when cd arrived?

I put my lps on the shelves in my hall closet and bought cds ,like crazy.Then in 2013 I sold my lps 1100 for $1,400 bucks...but then the vinyl craze hit and I bought over 2,000 lps from people who where selling them cheap...I bought alot of Beatles, Doors,Jethro  Tull,alot of new stuff....oh well.Oh and 5 new turn tables....hey I'm a wacko.

I started with cassettes- had about 250…Then moved to CD.  I have over 1,000 CDs and then moved into vinyl.  Have about 750 records.  With streaming it helps me buy stuff that I don’t have to gamble on.  I can listen first then go find it on the format I enjoy most….the LP.  Streaming also plays a part when I’m lazy and wanna rock out

I kept my vinyl collection, but it started getting hard to find LP's, so I jumped on the CD bandwagon. I was in Japan and Korea from 1984 until 1999. The base exchange sold only CD's starting around 1986 or so. 

When I got back to the states I started buying vinyl again. I just missed the sound of vinyl and the ritual of playing records.

At the end of my CD buying days, I had around 1500. My vinyl collection consists of around 3000 LP's.

Nope. Still have all my records.
But I did buy an inexpensive Sony CD/DVD player when DVD came out. It’s still in use for both formats.

Yes bought my first CD player in the mid 80s when I picked up Dire Straits’ Brothers in Arms and I never looked back.  I’ve been hanging on to a couple of boxes of rare albums but I plan on selling them and giving them away since I no Longer have a turntable.
