KAB RF1 Sobsonic Ruble Filter - Worked but feels like I lost some sound quality

My system:

Technics 1200G with Orofon black LVM

Luxman 595 MM/MC integrated

REL 830

Sopra N1s

I bought the KAB RF1 Rumble filter for MM. I did it because I have woofer excursion really bad in my set up with my Turntable... and not to derail this post into things I tried let’s just leave it as I tried everyhing.

The Subsonic filter on my Luxman helps alot but it does not get rid of all the woofer excursion... there is still some... especially in electronic music.

So I tried the KAB RF1. It did not get rid of the woofer excursion by itself. But when used with the Luxman subsonic filter, it did successfully get rid of all the woofer excursion with the turntable playing. I was quite suprised. But here is the downside.... I felt that I lost some of the holographic sound stage in my sound. Enough to bother me. Anyone else have exeperinece with KAB RF1 filter?

EDIT: Sorry for the missspelling in the title. I can’t edit it.

The KAB filter is a very aggressive filter.  You could be hearing the summing of L+R below 140 Hz.  I am surprised that you still experienced woofer pumping when just using it alone.  Obviously there is some sort of interaction between your Luxman preamp and the KAB filter.  You should not need both.  Can you describe your system so it will be possible for us to try and understand what is causing the problem?

I used the KAB filter with my previous VPI Prime TT and it removed every bit of woofer pumping with no loss in fidelity.  When I switched to the Technics SL1200G, I no longer needed it.  I have the original version of the KAB filter and ran it through the processor loop on my Mac preamp.  I could switch back and forth while music was playing and couldn't hear a bit of difference.  Same is true for 2 of my friends into high end that heard my system.  You really shouldn't need 2 filters, the RF-1 should be enough on its own,
