Jay's barbecue - disinvited

The barbecue is on and is all very exciting, or I should say was exciting.  We had lots of fun talking about decorations around pool, inviting neighbors who live kind of far away since Jay lives in the middle of a forest. And also about food and local caterers who plan to help.

The mood was celebratory.

It was exciting visiting the most famous listening room in the country, and because I was having trouble containing my excitement I accidentally spilled an entire glass of merlot wine on a new carpet. And earlier I recommended putting a couch along the wall which would've overlapped the acoustic panels and possibly putting a few pieces of furniture in the room since space seems kind of open. It's a really large room. I sensed a mood change.

Was it the wine? Was it my taste in furniture? Was it related to my concern about types of music that that would be played at the barbecue?

It's a mystery. Things did not go well that afternoon and consequently, I will not be invited to the barbecue.

What an amazing journey and I'm sorry I will not be able to visit and experience all the incredibly expensive and wonderful audio components that will be featured. That's OK.  Thank God for you tube.

for those future visitors, please let me know if he was able to get the stain out of the carpet. Maybe now he'll consider buying a couch which will hide the stain.

Montaro wool area rug - pricy, but a drop in the bucket compared to those Goldmund Telos amps.

The red colored spot was initially only a couple inches but then someone dumped some water on it hoping to make it easier to clean up, I won’t see who that is. The size of the stain grew and by now maybe it’s out. I wouldn’t know because I had left before everything dried. Fortunately the location is underneath one of those three magnificent chairs in the back of the room.

I mean if there is a concern about a flatscreen on the wall, why not do a drop-down projector screen I think that’s how some die hard audio people do it. Of course then you need theater seating which I think is really ugly. I still feel a nice longer couch would be lovely somewhere. I think they used to park large farm equipment in this building before it was converted it is massive.

I’ve moved on and now in my post Jay period.  I have plenty of barbecues to go to and lots of friends that aren’t just interested in me because of my interest in audio gear.

@emergingsoul I AM ALWAYS the person who spills red wine at parties at the worst spots and I am so empathizing with you. I don't get Jay but that's another story.

Moral of the story, don’t serve red wine? Or don’t serve specific people….?
