Do you have any gear that was outright given to you?

I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a McIntosh PS112 subwoofer. They are quite old now, but it continues to perform. It needed some repairs when it was given to me- a total of not quite $300 put it back into good working order.

Unfortunately yes…when my brother passed 15 years ago he left  behind his 80’s-‘90’s system that he didn’t maintain or repair.  It included Rotel Power Amp(blown resistors) Preamp, CD player(dead) and Tuner, Linn TT (missing/bad parts)and Speakers, ESS AMT-1 Speakers(bad woofer foam), Sansui Amp(bad volume control, no lights) Preamp (noisy) and tuner, Pioneer tape deck, ton of LP’s and CD’s and others I have purged from my memory.   It was a headache to deal with and find homes. Sold what I could “as is” cheap, gave some to friends and still have ESS speakers and Linn TT in storage for “when I never get around to it” restoration projects.  Sometimes receiving is not a gift.
