No doubt we are passionate group! 

Shunyata Research has great research and wonderful products. 

It’s hard to know where to go here given the context of all the points of view. 

I will simply say that the shorter your cables, any kind of cables, the better. Noise comes from many sources, so shielding works, but does not eliminate the noise that already existed on the signal. Reclocking helps with jitter, but does not eliminate it, it has its limits. Digital signals are really analog square waves that need to be interpreted and error corrected. Noise in the ground will affect the interpretation of 1s and 0s. 

Get rid of as much noise as you can at all levels. No single solution is the absolute best or worst. They all have their engineering tradeoffs.
