HiBy FC1 vs. just about any modern or vintage DAC out there.

Cost? Just around 20 dollars or so.

I doubt anyone will be able to tell a difference with their system.

Let’s assume  the following case scenario:

1. same speakers

2. same cables

3. same amplifier

The test:

Use a 3.5mm cable to RCA or balanced in to your preamplifier or integrated amplifier on a spare input.

basically, it’s 2v plus a little extra mw, designed to drive headphones.

If anything it’ll be a bit louder than your system, but fundamentally, you won’t be able to hear any difference between it and any solid-state DAC out there in terms of resolution, detail, timing, or instruments/vocals clarity.

Why? Because digital audio has advanced to the point where we are at its limits, and can shrink down the electronics this small, without sacrificing anything. Just look at how far computers and smartphones have come. Audio reproduction is no different in the digital domain.

@campoly

I have no problem with it being deleted.

It became a cesspool of garbage.... because of a select few members who think they are very special human beings... and they continued to harass me constantly. Calling me a bot and suggesting that I was actually someone named David (who was my look-alike, but that is not even me).

Although I had posts that were informative over there... I don’t really care that it all got deleted. I can simply write more about that subject and many others when people ask me. Those who heed my advice and knowledge and respect me are the ones who deserve it. Most do not. Well, not here anyway.

It became a cesspool of garbage....

ummmm, have you stepped back and taken a good look at this thread.

I’m still curious about the Bentley and the wealth and I’m sure we are all on the edge of our seats waiting for you to post photos of your own system. You being so wealthy and all.

@campoly

That was me, getting a good laugh at your joke in the other thread. scholbinnong..or something! lol

I may have caused the closure because I was expressing my dismay that Frank  is an eugenics expert and can school us on the ins and outs of that fascinating ..issue that pertains to frank's incredible ability to convey and square up eugenics in a way that no one else can! Truly, undeniably, a treasure trove of information on the subject of eugenics. Eugenics. I think I spelled it right. It's really Eugene without the "e" and instead "ics", so EUGENICS. Which I think is a noun, but can be a verb if you say "EuGENEics" which is misspelled but properly pronounced. Anyway, I hope he can remember what he said over there cause it was really eye-opening.
