HiBy FC1 vs. just about any modern or vintage DAC out there.

Cost? Just around 20 dollars or so.

I doubt anyone will be able to tell a difference with their system.

Let’s assume  the following case scenario:

1. same speakers

2. same cables

3. same amplifier

The test:

Use a 3.5mm cable to RCA or balanced in to your preamplifier or integrated amplifier on a spare input.

basically, it’s 2v plus a little extra mw, designed to drive headphones.

If anything it’ll be a bit louder than your system, but fundamentally, you won’t be able to hear any difference between it and any solid-state DAC out there in terms of resolution, detail, timing, or instruments/vocals clarity.

Why? Because digital audio has advanced to the point where we are at its limits, and can shrink down the electronics this small, without sacrificing anything. Just look at how far computers and smartphones have come. Audio reproduction is no different in the digital domain.

Here’s a very, very small example of his BS since you brought this one up:

"I don’t smoke anything. I don’t even drink alcohol. "

"You made me laugh so much that a small amount of scotch whiskey existed one of my nostrils. "

Guess he was snorting it since he doesn’t drink. Like I said, very small example.

Some real whoppers were in all his deleted posts.

I think you misunderstood my last post.  Yes, there were plenty of hateful comments and venomous replies...mostly by Frank.

In my first post, I was hoping to defuse Frank’s angry demeanor with a joke about losing more brain cells reading this post than from recreational activities.  He took offense and lashed out saying I belittled him.  So much for the supportive lifeline.  The follow-up post was meant to point out that he hijacked his own post, not the other way around.   To me, it went downhill when he made the disgusting comments about his wife.  Tells you all you need to know about the guy when he has deleted every comment he made saying something nasty to other members...but not the comments where he says disparaging things about his spouse.

Frankly (you like what I did there), I don’t know why we even reply to Frank’s posts.  He only joined Audiogon a couple of weeks ago, and every post he has made turns contentious or gets removed by the Mods (stats show he has started 11 Discussions but only 4 are still active).  He appears to just be a "rage baiter" trying to stir the pot.  We need to start following Social Media Rule Number One:

"Don’t Feed The Troll"
