Frank you’re obviously extremely ignorant when it comes to all of this and I don’t have time to bring you up to speed on reality, but I’ll just give you a couple quick things… Every monitor sounds different, every monitor controller sounds different, every speaker cable sounds different, every amp, every XLR cable is different, every compressor sounds different, every equalizer sounds different… This doesn’t mean that people change their Studio for every client or song that comes in the door… Each person assembles a pallet of colors that give the result that works for the most people or for the people that they target in a particular idiom or they simply do what they like, and they attract people who like the same thing… There’s nothing perfect here there’s nothing absolute

Properly engineered well-enough -  such that properly designed cables should not impact sound quality negatively. They pass along the signal and don’t drop voltage or current when doing so. This seems to be a difficult concept for you to comprehend.

And the electronics themselves have the greatest variability with regards to sound character, overall presentation style, and their ability to be detailed/transparent. 

That is engineering. Electronics matter the most. The cables are a bridge from point A to B. 

My understanding of science is lightyears ahead of yours, among many other subjects. You are pontificating rather than producing any logical arguments.

Regarding palates of colors, you have added precisely zero new colors to my paintbox. That is, no new knowledge or insight. Nadda.

I think @frank009 has hit a nerve with some of the folks in this forum. You must admit that his case is compelling, but what I would do is to prove that interconnects, power cables, speaker cables, etc.. each have a unique sound signature. It should be really easy to find this on the cable manufacturers website--Oh, wait--Maybe not.

Guess artists like Depeche Mode, Black Keys, Green Day, Shania Twain etc just have any run of the mill mastering engineer on the job for them.  Really should check for yourself  before you throw stones
