"...I never believed in break...and I never believed leaving your equipment on... .if you believe... Nope.Not for me."
I believe you,
Break In Question?
I have been under the assumption that in order for a component to break in there must be a signal pass through from one piece of equipment to another. That is, running a Dac/Preamp into an amp, the amp must be turned on for the Dac/Preamp to break in.
But is this really true? Does the amp really need to be turned on?

@ghdprentice I believe him too. |
Appropriate questioning will lead to more answers than general blanket statements that make little sense. If the ear changes and not the gear, then why does Tube and Class A amplifiers have significant change in sound, but not class D? If the perceived change is an illusion, why is it consistently changing with only some gear? Does this illusion favor a certain sound? And always near the 2-hour mark. Regardless of listening time. I repeat, regardless of how many minutes someone had sat down to listen. |
Whart A big difference between selling an idea and a product. No one seems to want to consider my suggestion that doug is simply attacking a long held belief in break in to sell his book. Contrary to conventional belief....blah blah. HIs premise essentially is telling us that he can hear things that believers in break in cant. He did tests! |
