Outstanding Ramm Audio, DIY Graphene Cables Impressions!

Sometime ago I discovered the amazing attributes of graphene when I replaced my copper sluggos with graphene sluggos, the results were startling, even with zero burn-in! With more settling time, the soundstage width and depth began to form with better layering/separation, a tighter image focus, beautiful tonal density with unbelievable clarity and resolution, yet with No harshness or brightness.

Years have passed since this eye-opening experience and one day while reading posts on this forum, a member (@vthokie83) mentioned that he had been using Ramm Audio Cables for years with excellent results and that they had come out with a new cable utilizing Infused Graphene Solid Single Crystal Copper OCC Conductors. I was a little surprised as I have never heard of Ramm Audio and have been building cables for over 20 years and have tried numerous Top-Tier brands…

That post, which I did not need to find, put me back on another upgrade path that I was not looking to pursue.😊 Now the research started and I wanted to gleam as much information as I could about their philosophy to determine if this innovative technology would make a welcoming and positive change to my audio system.

After a week or so reading about their Air-Inside Geometry with Air Tube Cable Construction, 6 Individually Shielded 16 AWG Separate Core Conductor Clusters, Multi-Layer Aluminum Foil, Drain Wire Cluster and Polyethylene Shielding with PVC/Mylar flexible jacketing. All these specifications met my criteria on deciding to build with Graphene Infused Solid OCC being at the top of my preference.

I emailed Ramm Audio and corresponded with Rudy on many occasions, and he was very responsive to my requests and with an extensive knowledge base in cabling. I provided him with a list of my components, cabling, and the attributes of my typical sound signatures. He recommended some cables that typically would yield the greatest results, and I was looking to get the best bang for the buck for the least amount of cash to determine if they would compete with my current stash of cabling.

I can honestly tell you that the price you are getting CuGr Solid Single Crystal Copper OCC Conductors for is a Bargain in the realms of this overpriced Audiophile Society…

Placed my first order for 3M Genesis-7 Signal Cable and 2M Infinitas-5 Power/Speaker Cable; cables shipped Fast and arrived in 2 days from date of order from California! Got the cables built with no issues but the Infinitas-5 PC will take you some time to complete with 6 core bundles, each having 7 conductors to strip and that is on one end. Placed built Infinitas-5 PC/SC on Audiodharma Cable cooker for 1 week and then onto a component for another 25 days. The Genesis-7 IC was cooked for 4 days and placed into secondary system playing music 24/7 for over 2 weeks. Both RCAs and AC plugs were already burned in, and I chose gold plated copper for this project.

Also, keep in mind that solid core conductors will need a couple of days to settle after handling/conducting A/B comparisons.

My Listening Surprise:

Placed Ramm Audio Genesis-7 IC into system first and allowed them to settle at least 3 days before doing any comparison. It did not take long to discern what Infused Graphene Solid Crystal Copper OCC Conductors bring to the table. It was the same unbelief I witnessed when I replaced my Copper with a Graphene Sluggos into the IEC of my Tube Pre-Amp which is outfitted with a Swiss Digital Fusebox. I immediately heard a lower noise floor, speakers already disappeared but became even more “chameleon” like, soundstage width grew but depth became Much deeper; soundstage details in the rear and on the sides of the venue was heard within its own space and separate from the main artist.

I heard ambiance and spatial cues that I have never heard even with all silver cables, yet it does it with Zero harshness/brightness or fatigue. I am still amazed at how these cables present airy details, space, and spatial cues that mimics “you are at the recorded event.” Adding Infinitas-5 PC/SC yielded the same results as the Genesis-7, more clarity and resolution, tighter bass, amazing layering, more dimensionality/textured nuanced sound with head bobbing musicality; neck brace to reduce head bobbing may be required!

Many of you know that I am a cable junkie, and when I discover something that compete with something that I have and at a reasonable cost, I am All over it… I have a stable of cables on hand to include Furutech DPS, TCS, FA and FS Alpha 36 line, Zavfino, Nanotec Strada and a few other brands of OCC Cabling plus I have evaluated at least 4-5 fully assembled “Big” name brands within the last ten months. While these other cables are very good in their own right, but when compared to Ramm Audio CuGr Cabling, you hear the veil/fog of warmth and coloration (which some may prefer) applied across the board and more noticeable with the DPS power cords: it is something you can feel and sense…; you typically hear this when you move up to higher quality cables but I have never heard a contrast So large between cable manufacturers and it is possible that the Infused Graphene is contributing to a substantial lower noise floor and distortions within the cable.

In my research, I discovered that these CuGr Solid Single Crystal Copper OCC boasts a conductivity rating of +40 % over the standard OCC. Maybe, this is why I am hearing tighter image focus, pin-point localization within the soundstage, bass that is tight, fast, articulate, full body and impactful. These CuGr cables have a beautiful and rich tonal character yet with detail and clarity I have never heard from another cable line and especially at this price point.

I also successfully built a Digital AES/EBU and a DC Cable utilizing the Genesis-7 Signal Cable, even though they are not spec’d for this application, but my Farad Super3 Linear Power Supply and Pro Ject CD Transport gained a noticeable improvement in noise floor, cleaner power delivery with better separation of instruments over the lines of cabling listed above.
