Lost Last Classix Rock Station

I put up a 10dB FM antenna that cost $600 and bought a $200 FM tuner. Only one station played classic rock with in 50 miles and shared with the terrible New Age format.. To me New Age all sounds the same and some talk vs sing- just junk. Now, this only station with in 60 miles radius converted to all New Age music. I can not believe the many stations here within 60 miles does not play Classic Rock but there is about 10 New Age stations. I bought a Ocean Wi-Fi internet receiver, The $800 was a total waste of money!

Thankfully, Seattle still has a few decent radio stations. I know all of them have streaming channels so look them up!

KZOK 102.5 plays classic rock still

KEXP 90.3 plays everything under the sun

KING 98.1 plays classical

I can pick them all up with a simple TERK antenna.....

Have you noticed how many vintage tuners, and especially, receivers there are for sale? Most people don’t have a use for the tuner section. I have a beautiful Sansui TU-717 that I hardly ever use. :-(

Just this past weekend I acquired a Magnum Dynalab ST 2 antenna and have been having a blast with it. Since January I have bought 3 tuners (very reasonably) a Dynaco FM 5, Mission Cyrus (first one) and a Sansui TU 3900. Wow, what an improvement with the external antenna! Luckily, Toronto has CJRT (fantastic Jazz), two quality classical stations and a couple classic rock stations worth listening to. Having fun re-discovering FM, for as long as the novelty lasts…
