Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO

Seawind-ST Side A SQ*

Highway 101-2 Side 2

Lita Ford-Stiletto Side B

Branford Marsalis-Scenes In The City Side 1 SQ*

Carly Simon-Anticipation Side 1 SQ*

Melissa Etheridge-ST Side 1 SQ*

Tchaikovsky-1812/Romeo And Juliet(Angel S-36890) Side 1 SQ*

Bette Midler-ST Side 1 SQ*

Decided to feature female vocals on 6 albums, only Seawind and Lita Ford were previously played. Very difficult to pick an SQ champ tonight with 6 SQ* but it came down to the pristine sound of Marsalis versus the very slightly murky/rounded organic presence of Carly Simon. I will give Anticipation the non-Audiophile SQ crown.  Very strong debut by Ms. Midler that is often overlooked. Etheridge’s debut is a 5* recording that places very high on my 1980’s Pop/Rock best list
