Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

Lynyrd Skynyrd 1977 JFK stadium Philadelphia PA. estimated crowd size 90k.  They were peaking Then.  Great show played 10 or 11 songs including What's your name and That smell from their upcoming album Street Survivor. The band line up that day was Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, J Giles and Dicky Betts and the Great Southern.  Frampton should never follow Lynyrd Skynyrd playing Free Bird.  Half of us fell asleep.

7/4/1973 - Pink Floyd at the old Tampa Stadium. Just started their Dark Side of the Moon tour and Money was just starting to move up the charts. Concert complete with the girls singing backup. When the stadium went dark late in the show and the change started dropping and the cash register got going the place melted down. Very little wind that night and sound was great. Ended the show playing to about twenty minutes of fireworks. Best part: Tickets were $3.50 and we got them as we walked in. They weren’t super popular yet, but the crowd that was there knew them well.

I mentioned I went to small NJ clubs, live performances, mostly Blues, twice a week for over 20 years. My good friend Nasty Ned (Nicholas Petti)

This is 20 years ago

hosted an open mic called ’American Roots’ for 4 years, this is a batch of the performers one typical night

’Where have these people been?’ you might exclaim. Many don’t have bands, just wonderful musicians who happen to be Insurance Salesmen .... The good stuff happens late!

He moved to Arizona, left that Neon Sign with me.

Pete Seeger’s 90th Birthday, Madison Square Garden, damn good seats on the floor, was anyone else there? My son showed us the ultrasound of our first grandchild that night.

I posted some concert photos, page 4 here on dpreview
