Does Ultralinear kill dynamics

There are manufacturers (no names) that state that Ultralinear circuits will impact dynamics in a negative manner. I’m sure it also depends on design. Maybe I should consider an integrated change.  Comments welcomed. Thanks.

Anywhere near me, Plainfield, 07062? Come listen.

My Cayin A88T can instantly and remotely switch between Triode (22 wpc) to Ultralinear (45 wpc). Many other makers now do this.

I and ALL my friends prefer Ultralinear. I do not need the extra power, my speakers are very efficient, nevertheless knowing you have more power reserve for instantaneous peaks is reassuring.

Your system appears to be very revealing. If close, we could drag it over to hear in your system. Why I bought mine:

Whoever you bought all that fine equipment from ought to bring you a truckload to try at home!!!!

I use an Audio Research Reference 160 amp. It has UltraLinear (140wpc) and Triode mode (75wpc). I and everyone else who has listened to it have chosen the Triode mode. There seems to be no effect on the dynamics or loudness, but the sounds in triode mode is more natural and fleshed out.

I think it is likely if you are close to not having enough power then the relationship between the tradeoffs would change.

Why the secrecy?
