Have you ever thought it would be cool to have a stereo reviewer come to your house?

No interest in having a reviewer over to my house, but wouldn't mind someone like a Nelson Pass or other respected industry veteran including the class D pioneers come over. Shoot the breeze over a drink and some tunes. Now their observations on my system I would welcome, but it would be more to pick their brains.

I had some seasoned audiophiles in my home and it was very useful.

With my system being as modest as it can be "rate the system, and even guess how much was spent on it. " was never really on the horizon - they were polite :)

I trust my own ears after so many decades being involved in this stuff, and I can honestly say there's pretty much nothing I learn from reviewers, other than their opinions about whatever item they're reviewing, taken with grains of salt. I know how they feel about my gear already, and also know that everybody hears things differently anyway.

I built it. I listen to it. I like it. I share it. But only for the love of the music. Never for validation. That is enough for this simple man.

A thought like that has never entered my head. I guess Audio is a very personal experience for me and I don’t need external validation I guess.
