@elliottbnewcombjr - I’m drawn to a turntable with a lot of acrylic like Basis 2800 or Inspiration so I can shine colored lights, but would not buy from just looks. What turntable do you find the most attractive regardless of performance? |
I skimmed thru the 4 pages, some amazing creations, however: 1. I like WOOD 2. I want TWO Tonearms, one LONG 3. I insist on a DUST COVER (reasonable size, removable) 4. I prefer Quartz Locked DIRECT DRIVE 5. A SOLID PLINTH is required OMG, what’s this? Now, I can imagine a more elegant version, starting with two of these "Bird of Prey’ Tonearms, and a fine wood plinth with layered construction like the arm board
Ignoring my requirements, for various reasons, these appeal to me
I want this Pluto Arm
Not wood, but I really love my friend’s Luxman PD444 with two Tonearms, had I known about it, I would probably have gotten it instead of my wood JVC Victor It’s simplicity conceals some excellent technology and solutions https://www.audiogon.com/systems/11900 Lastly, my Mitsubishi Vertical TT really appeals to me, I wish it was direct drive like it’s horizontal version. Not a serious lacking, after it warms up, it holds speed like my old Thorens TD124 did, unless the room temperature changes, like a party, the room progressively getting full of a lot of people, not likely in my office.
