Oppo BDP-93 remote/sensor issue
Any idea why the unit would stop responding to remote commands? The remote itself lights up, but not sure if it's transmitting or if it's a problem with the player receiving. I've refreshed the batteries, cleaned off all pertinent areas of the remote and IR receiver window. The unit's 7 buttons are fine, but I can only play CD OR SACD on it, since I can't maneuver the menu on any video discs (BLU-RAY, DVD, etc). All those buttons are on the remote. Any help out there please?

The same thing happened to my Oppo UDP-203 remote. I tried every kind of troubleshooting Google gave me. I bought a cheap aftermarket one off of eBay which works fine but isn't nearly as nice or simple as the stock remote. Remote issues are literally the only negative thing I have ever seen re: Oppo. Besides this issue, I love mine. |
So it makes more sense from a money standpoint to get the new remote ($20) vs. taking it to the shop (as @buellrider97 said). The guy wants $45 just to diagnose the issue (which will go towards the repair). I won't get the remote delivered till next week sometime. Good thing i have a back up. |
