jimpainter,
Thank you so much for your post!
So, as most audio equipment does require break in, so too does the Lumin X2. I guess I can just stream music through it 24/7 for a while.
Please post as the break in progresses.

I own the Lumin X1 and I have been very happy with it. Recently Lumin has now released the X2 model.
The updated X2 is supposed to have superior internal components that exceed the X1 in sonic attributes.
Still, there doesn't seem to be much info that I can find about it compared to the X1.

ozzy, Was offered X1 trade in but thought I could do better privately. X2 delivery to SE Michigan from US distributor in CA took 7 days. It’s been on 24/7 since arriving. I wanted to wait out the 200 hours before listening but that did not work out well 🙃. Anxious for your impression when paired with those Clarisys speakers.

I have the X1, what is the x2? How much is it? What do I do with my X1 if I replace it? I use it with roon because the interface of the internal system with x1 it’s not very good but the sound is supposed to be pretty good. Don’t see need to change something that’s really good. Why does anyone need a separate dac? x1 has a great dac and the internal wiring is clearly done really well. I have a separate dac and never use it. |

Someone may wish to play sources other than files (e.g. discs). I don't listen to discs so it's not a big deal to me. Here's a review (including the price) - https://audiophilestyle.com/ca/reviews/review-lumin-x2-flagship-network-player-with-discrete-dac-r1420/
I currently use a Lumin U2 (with an EMM Labs DAC 2x) and had a Lumin U1 before that (I use an all in one Lumin M1 is a spare 2-channel system in a small bedroom). I might eventually consider the X2 down the road. |
