Lumin X2 Has anyone used this device yet?

Lumin X2 Has anyone used this device yet?

I own the Lumin X1 and I have been very happy with it. Recently Lumin has now released the X2 model.

The updated X2 is supposed to have superior internal components that exceed the X1 in sonic attributes.

Still, there doesn't seem to be much info that I can find about it compared to the X1.

If only , it would be possible to upgrade the Lumin X1 to the X2 .

A lot of money saved !!

Yeah, I hear ya,

I was able to trade in my X1 towards the X2 purchase though.

I also used to own the X1 and was very fond of it. I had to sell it because it’s not a USB DAC and I needed a USB B input to run BACCH4MAC. I am currently using the MSB Premier and am happy with it. I am curious to find out how the X2 sounds compared to the X1. Congrats on the purchase ozzy.

I was really surprised at how great the audio quality is with the X1. I have attached to it my 8TB hard drive that has all my recorded music. i.e. CD's, LP's, etc. on it via a USB cable. I also have the X1 attached via a fiber cable which I thought was also a big improvement over ethernet, etc.

With the X1 and Qoboz I no longer listen to my 6000+ CD's it has been that great.

Making the X2 to sound even better than the X1 will be a real challenge.

I’ve had mine a few days now and have about 75 hours on it. It may look like the X1 but the similarity ends there. LUMIN’s new FPGA based DAC is quite an upgrade over the ESS chip used on the X1. The sound is more organic, real and musical. I find myself focusing more on what’s playing than how it sounds (hard to believe). There is also more instrumental detail coming through the L/R speakers and more low end punch. It took awhile to get my subs reintegrated. Vocals were not initially razor centered as with the X1 but that’s improving with time. I’m told it could be 200 hours for everything to get settled. So far could not be happier.
