Favorite Beatles Song

"A day in the life".

One of the great bands I never had the opportunity to see.

This thread made me think about the current day influence of the Beatles and their music. It seems to me that for a number of years now (5, 10?) we haven't been seeing other bands/artists covering Beatles songs like they used to. Am I right about that or am I just not hearing them for some reason?

I'm wondering if the demise of traditional radio has resulted in the Beatles no longer being as popular and influential as they used to be. Unless you're actively looking for Beatles music to listen to, most likely on a streaming service or Sirius, where else would you hear them? So we may have a generation now that has had little or no exposure to Beatles music. It makes one wonder how many other bands from the past are experiencing the same thing. As the Boomers like me fade away, will anyone still be listening to the Beatles and all the Classic Rock bands?

tough question. I like top 5, top 10 lists better, easier to be fair.

I once read somewhere that Here Comes The Sun has been played more times, worldwide, than any other song ever. Not sure how they would assess it.

I find it astonishing that the Beatles and their contemporaries were born during WWII in serious poverty and broken families and it shows. The depth, the bittersweet melodies, the humility, kindness and empathy are the essence of their songs, they have been connecting humans for over half a century.

For me the Beatles is primarily’s Paul and his voice with the band’s harmony behind it. Let It Be may well be the most beautiful and perfect song, ever written.
Stones, ELO, Queen, U2’s best ones not too far behind it.

will anyone still be listening to the Beatles and all the Classic Rock bands?

not sure how much humanity has left with the decisions they are making, leaders they are choosing, but as long as humans are around, Beatles will too for sure.

Tried to stop at five and then eight (days a week). Settled on a top 10 that spans most of their discography instead:
