Eversolo T8

I recently purchased a T8.  So far I am very pleased with the SQ and the ios app.   Qobuz direct is a bit iffy.  The question I have for the forum is if the T8 is interrupted by a sudden power loss, it just won’t correctly reboot and I have had to do a hard reset with a paper clip.

Is anyone experiencing this ?   I have the T8 plugged into a PS Audio P300.   Does anyone have experience plugging the T8 into a UPS or does it reduce SQ?

thanks

I have an A8. No issue with start up after power loss.

The UI is so friendly I listen more than ever.

enjoy

I am very happy with SQ.   Not an issue.   I have had a couple of brownouts which then seems to require a hard reset.  Its easy enough to do except if the unit is in an enclosed furniture rack and it needs to be pulled out to find the pinhole.

That’s why I am wondering if it would be OK to use a UPS.

Update.   After dealing with the need to do a hard reset after power glitches, I went to my dealer and by a process of elimination, the issue seems to be using a wired ethernet connection to my mesh router, it was having difficult establishing an IP connection.   Using wifi, I have not experienced this issue since, but its still early days.  I had an aurender that would not work on a mesh system either.   This narrows streamer choices to just those with built in wifi.  Fortunately, the T8 has very good SQ into a Weiss 204.  The app is very intuitive and IMO much cleaner than the aurender conductor, but that’s splitting hairs.

I have had a T8 for several months now, and so far it has been a rock-solid performer that feeds a nice clean digital stream into my Yggdrasil+ DAC. I like the remote as well.

I use Roon for almost everything, so I haven't taken much advantage of the T8's built-in Tidal and Qobuz clients, or any of its other stuff; it's solely working as a Roon endpoint for me, and doing a fine job of it.

This is after having the HiFi Rose fancy jobber (over $5K) that broke down after less than 2 weeks -- necessitating a return to Crutchfield for a full return.

I just purchased a gigabit ethernet-fiber converter, SFP modules, and patch cables. $50 on Amazon. I think it makes a difference. Give it a try.
