Klipsch LaScala footers
Now that I believe I have my Klipsch LaScala AL5 speakers properly positioned, it's time that I deal with proper footers of some sort. My current rubber furniture coasters with felt pads on the underside allowed me to position these heavy 200 lbs cabinets easily and without damaging the wood floor. These coasters were temporary and it's time to find proper footers. I actually experimented with plastic coasters with a carpeted underside and they support my weight no problem (I'm 200 lbs). Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
@glennewdick hi Glen. Unfortunately the IsoAcoustic pucks max out at 32 lbs x 4 = 128 lbs vs the spkr which weights 201lbs. I just found actual footers used for grand pianos so I'm thinking if they are good for a 1,000 lbs $200,000 grand piano then they should be good for a speaker. Then again the hifi experts will rebuke this theory, can't wait lol |

Having done this dance with my 125 lb Tekton’s ( please don’t flame me 😆 ) I’m a firm believer in decoupling. I use Townshend Isolation platforms. At the size of your speakers Townshend’s would be HUGE and expensive. You can search my history from last summer and read the thread regarding suggestions. I’d look at Gais’s , Auva, and Herbies from expensive to less expensive. FWIT Townshend also offers bars Vs platforms when you look at their stuff. Also when I did my search , I was contacted ( PM ) by the Townshend rep during my thread. I made my purchase through the AGON site and used the make offer option and this was significantly less expensive than list price. Also in making my decision all of the sellers were very responsive to my inquiries. If I may suggest, be sure to consider height adjustment since your speaker has a large footprint and you have hardwood floors. Happy Hunting, Mike B. |
@fire_water , yes you can use them w/o the stems. I think they’re an option. The 70s measure, 1.25’’. The Townshends were priced @ a little over $2K last year.
