DDC Connection Roulette - Denafrips Venus II 12th

I currently use a Denafrips Venus II 12th with an SMSL PL200T connected via I2S and an Eversolo DMP A6 connected via USB.  My understanding is that a DDC is intended to clean up USB and then connect into I2S.  That would create the dilemma of haw to then connect my CD Transport. My CDs sound better than ever as it is.  What are your thoughts and opinions????

This is an ACADEMIC question.  I am very pleased with how everything currently performs - and yes - I enjoy the music.

I tried a Hermes 15th with my LAiV Harmony (SPDIF) and Oppo UDP-203 (Toslink).  The Hermes would not do 24-Bit/ 192kHz via SPDIF so I asked for my money back.  While trouble shooting, I realized that the Hermes was doing nothing to improve my system.

@audiostick  The Hermes does 24/192 so the limitation was likely Toslink or a problem elsewhere.  Also, you should have been using the i2S connection with your DAC and not SPDIF.  That said, if you heard no difference then that’s all that matters, but your experience is in the minority here among people who’ve tried the Hermes but at least you tried it, which is always a good thing because it’s really the only way to know for sure especially with stuff like this.

@soix Sorry, I got my black boxes mixed-up.  Bluesound Vault via SPDIF to Hermes, and i2s from Hermes to Harmony.  Denafrips kept dismissing the issue but their US repair facility (Todd in Texas) was eventually able to confirm the issue.

To be fair, the unit was not fully broken-in, but I had grown impatient and lost faith in Denafrips.

@audiostick  Got it.  That’s weird but don’t blame you for being frustrated with that, and Goodonya for at least giving it a shot and using your ears!
