Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earth Day, turn those amps OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it is Environmentally IRRESPONSIBLE to leave your equipment on for long periods of time, before or after, or truly despicable, ON all the time!

On, 20 mins, listen, done, off!

Doctors, Lawyers, Trust Fund Kiddos, come on now.

Where were you in 1970?, I was there in Manhattan (went to college at Pratt in Brooklyn 1966-1970)

@oberoniaomnia

it's not any kids. Oh no. It is their kids, their genetic offspring. That is selfish.

Adopted kids is more similar to caring for a pet or plant so another living being with which you do not share that many genes. However, still a hobby in the sense of unnecessary, elective activity.

All I can say is, it's best you don't have any kids.

I bet adoptive kids beg to differ with your viewpoint and are grateful some folks decided to take an elective.

Love your mother. Too bad not all do and it's too bad that many have little choice.

@samureyex you are missing  the point of Earth Day. It is symbolic to turn off your amp. It won't do much. But doing it as well as a lot of other smart and forward thinking acts is a chance to save the planet. Wasting resources sure won't. I grew up in a country at a time with negative carbon footprint. It wasn't hard at all.

Manufacturer  of my amp says to leave it on all the time (Plinius class AB). No power switch on the phono stage or turntable. I should probably turn the amp off during thunder storms but I rarely do. I have a power conditioner which should provide some protection. Sorry.

BTW - for all the tree huggers out there (I try but can't quite hug) supposedly the biggest way for an individual to try to combat climate change it to not own a dog. Sorry again.
