Upgrade from B&W 802D1 to Focal Utopia Scala Evo

Don't listen to the other forums. They speak without ownership. Plus reviewers doing measurements don't know how to use them or measure them. I own the D2. It measures fairly neutral. Under factory QC testing, they measure warm, likely toed out. They have headroom and can be whatever you want, bright, neutral and even dark depending on how you toe them.

I'm sure there's no truth to the tweeters breaking down.

Anyway, I'm still interested in your BHK preamp. I need a neutral clinical sounding tube preamp.

I am totally confused. The dealer still has your B&Ws. Returns must be a state level regulation. Ask a lawyer. Ask for a restocking fee. Don't be stuck with something you don't like.

In Pennsylvania, there is no state level regulations for returns. 

I’m stuck with a pair of Focal Scala Evo speakers that the dealer will not take back 3-4 days after delivery in a standard finish.

They are worth 1/2 of what I paid for them.

Even Focal is annoyed that the dealer won’t return them.

That sucks. What a short-sighted dealer. I would name them and leave a review. 

I had a similar experience when I wanted to return speakers for obvious damages and I was told no. I could have gotten my credit card company involved but I didn't. It sounds like something is wrong with the Focals if they sound so lame. They should really blow your mind and if they don't then maybe a flaw would give you a reason to return them.
