Pass Labs Amps - Does the heat bother you?

My XA-25 gets hot exactly as Pass said it would...put your hand on the heat sinks and you can leave it there for a few seconds, according to them. Also I leave space above the amp so as not to to cramp its style. I imagine if you have a very small room you may be concerned about heat but in a normal room...meh...the Pass isn't as hot as my little Dennis Had Firebottle SEP tube thing that I switch to when the mood strikes me, but also it gets plenty of room so again...meh...if you worry about heat there are plenty of boring Class D amps out there.

I have the 600.5 and it does get hot on the other hand my boulder 2060 is class a and only gets warm. So they designed it that way. My krell monoblocks  get hot and I put low noise fans on them.my d sonic 1500 watts in8 and 2400 in 4 don't get hot. My smsl gan  pa x 500 watts  mono no heat. Class d is becoming more desireable.enjoy the hunt.

Wear fewer clothes. No, seriously. Our living room faces WbyNW and gets warm in summer. Add in the energy from a well driven tube amp and it can be downright sultry. I usually wear gym shorts and a t-shirt.

I had a pass 250.8 and loved it, it did run hot and in a 13x24 listening room that at the time had no ventilation it'd heat the room up fom 63 to 74 after a couple of hours in the winter (it's a dedicated listening room in the basement). In the summer though it got even hotter because the room started out at 68 degrees. I eventually sold it haldf due to the heat and half due to just wanting to change to something else. Fast forward to last month and I bought a pass xa 30.8 to run on my Martin Logan ESL 15A- and it's sweet. Two years ago I installed a mini split in the room so now have no issue with heat. The XA30.8 seems to run cooler than the 250.8 even though it runs at around 30 Class A watts all the time. The 350.8 will throw some heat for sure, if you have ventilation in case the room gets too warm then you'd be fine. They're great sounding amps. My other amp in the same room is an ARC REF160s and that throws some heat too! 

I live in the SE.  AC runs 8+ months, w the temp set at 74F inside.

I have a tube Pre-Amp, which causes the AC to run more often.  

Gave up the thought of a tube Amp. 

Like many have said - which bother listening to good equipment if the AC runs a lot...
