Floor spikes for speakers?

They weigh 112 lbs each. 

I tried spikes, both hard floors with a small metal disc, and on carpet. I heard no advantage, I did not like lack of mobility, gave them to my friend. I alter my toe-in for centered, or two off-center listeners.

I would add 3 low profile wheels to the bottom of the base, because 3 is 33% more weight per wheel than 4 wheels, and self leveling wherever you place them. 

You need to prevent tipping: either replace the bottom board with something bigger; add a skirt to conceal the wheels, or rear corner blocks, (either just short of the carpet), but if they start to tip, they make contact, preventing further tip.

Dual wheel furniture casters axels move less than single wheel casters axels.

the rule for chairs: hard wheel material on carpet; soft material on hard floors (so they move, or don’t move too easily). you might want soft material on carpet, so more effort is needed to move them. Some wheels have brakes, mine stay put without brakes, but move with effort.

I also added a block above my front wheels, which tilts them back a bit, which projects the tweeter up to my seated ear height. Yours are tall so no need for that.

Nice!😂😂. I am quite sure many would consider my speakers end game but I no doubt should have said for me. How’s your room coming? I’d love to come down for a listen when it’s done. 

I’m pretty sure I have carpet over wood.  I put my Studio 2’s on the carpet, and then decided to try the spikes, because I thought that maybe the speakers were vibrating down and maybe the floor was becoming a big bass drum, and tht spikes would reduce/eliminate that.  I know I don’t hear a lot of bass when I’m in the room below the listening room.

So now I removed the spikes and have the speakers on multiple layers of rubber, felt, and foam to lesson the vibration downward and to lean them a bit forward so the tweeters point down a tiny bit towards my ears.

I still don’t understand how vibrations coming back up from the floor to a SS Amp, streamer, or speakers could affect the sound.  But I'm going to try some home made solutions first before I drop thousands on springs platforms.
