Power Conditioner for Amplifiers

Does anyone have experience with ether the

Isotek Titan V5

or

Shunyata Typhon

These units are specifically designed to deal with power  to Amplification. I’m particularly interested in the Shunyata as it addresses both removing noise from the AC but also provides a cache or reservoir of power.

Just thinking about these products as the summer cooling season approaches which adds more hash to the AC. These are diff from regenerative products which I’ve tried and found wanting.

Do you guys connect your power amps to power conditioner or to the  wall socket? Also what do you experience after connecting to the best power conditioner in audio quality?

I run all my electronics directly from wall outlets. Got rid of power conditioners.

Me too!

I am sure that every answer in this thread is valid for the circumstance.  The truth is that every circumstance is different.  So to determine if power conditioning or dedicated lines and what amperage said lines should be it is necessary to know what your power profile is first.  Do you have voltage sag during peak demand periods?  Is there a lot of noise on your lines?  Do you or a neighbor have solar panels?  If so the inverters are generating a kind of dirty noise.  In other words do your own assessment.  It does not matter what anyone else is doing.  You need to know what you need.  Everything else is not pertinent until you know what you need.

In any case, getting dedicated power to your listening room/space is IMHO the best start.  When I was renovating my retirement cottage, I ran VH-Audio cryo’d 10-gauge ROMEX from a dedicated 30-amp breaker to that room and used high quality duplex outlets there.  The maximum distance from my main breaker panel to the furthest wall outlet is 35ft.  I do have an Isotek Sigmas power conditioner that’s only used with my Accuphase A48 power amplifier.  For many folks, there will be 12-gauge ROMEX in the walls and may have been through another room or two before getting to your stereo room and using conventional duplex outlets.  Some homes I’ve seen with 14-gauge ROMEX wiring !  Most amplifiers use power cords that may be 12-gauge wiring, so if in your walls you have 12-gauge ROMEX, putting a 10-gauge or 9-gauge power cord is overkill, unless it’s got some RF attenuation.  In my case, with all of my source components turned on and the amplifier on, I get only a ~ 1-volt drop from all on versus nothing on.  I don’t use any 10-gauge or sophisticated $$$ power cords and have no noise related issues with my system.  Wall to amp with or without the Sigmas power conditioner in between, I hear no audible difference.
